Dr. Ashley Jackson

Dr. Ashley Jackson is a highly sought after collaborator in New York and beyond. She holds degrees from Yale University (BA, MM) and The Juilliard School (DMA). As a harpist she’s performed with the New York Philharmonic, on Broadway, and works regularly with the Harlem Chamber Players. Her writing has appeared on NewMusicBox and in the International Journal of women in music. She’s an Assistant Professor in the Music Department at Hunter College, where she also serves as the Director of Undergraduate Studies.

Dr. Jackson recently premiered her first film, In Song and Spirit. She’s currently working on her first solo album, an exploration of African American spirituals and other forms of black musical expression. For more information, please visit her at or on YouTube.
